Copper for Des Moines Library, Iowa

Before the opening of David Chipperfield Architects' Des Moines Library in Iowa, passersby often asked about the windows.

The two-story concrete structure, clad entirely in a glass-and-metal shell, makes a windowless impression from the outside. Standing inside, however, it becomes clear that the OKALUX copper metal mesh does offer a perfect view of the surroundings while creating a comfortable interior atmosphere through evenly diffused daylight.

OKATECH Expanded Metal with Copper Inlay give the facades a unique character and a special brilliance. It combines privacy and partial view while serving angle-selective sun and glare protection.
